Surfline Swell Forecast / Event Update Week of July 31st, 2007
Iquique, Chile International Tow-In Surfing Championship
Gottaplay.com / APT World Cup Tour
Association of Professional Towsurfers (APT)
Holding Period / July 1, 2007 - September 1, 2007
To Competitors and Media;
While we are watching a couple swells for early next week (Sun evening through Wed the 5th-8th ), at this point they don't look like they'll be large enough to satisfy the minimum heights set for the competition.
The first swell Sunday evening through Monday will be in the overhead to double overhead range.
The second swell looks a little more promising and would arrive Monday evening through Wednesday morning with double to possibly triple overhead surf (10-15'+ faces). Of course this depends on how the low actually behaves in the next couple days, so we'll keep an eye on it for any major changes or development.
I'll issue the next update by Tuesday afternoon, 8/07, unless we see a significant change to the above forecast.

Kevin Wallis
